Who am I:

My name is Darrell Douglass (my friends call me Doug) and I’ve been a professional videographer and photographer in the adult industry for over 20 years.  I shoot mainly solo girl video and stills (adult posing) but also do boy/girl and girl/girl as well.  I have my studio in Los Angeles.  My DVD's have been nominated by AVN Magazine for "best amateur series".

What do I do:

My main business is selling DVD’s that I make by mail order to my customers who I’ve been marketing well before Al Gore invented the internet.  How it’s done is they will order online my DVD’s by credit card or mail me a check and I’ll mail them one of the over 1,300 DVD’s I have produced.   I do my own video taping, still photography, editing, DVD reproduction, boxcover design and mailing.  In other words I do it all – myself – nothing is sent out for delays or that eats into profit.

If you are a young lady getting into the adult business or maybe you’ve been in it for a while – you most likely would like to make some additional cash by selling your own content to customers you may already have.  Many of you have websites.  Most girls have websites in the making – because to really have a successful site you need tons of content – both video and stills.  It’s also very difficult and time consuming to do content trades.  You have to do so many before the first dollar comes in and even after that you need to pay for server providers, credit card processing and someone to market and design your website.  The bottom line is very few girls in the industry have made any really nice money from their website or promotion of their own content.

How I got my idea:

I got this idea a few months back when I started noticing my models during breaks.  They would be on their cells tweeting, emailing and doing stuff on facebook.  One did a tweet saying she just did a video scene naked jumping up and down on a trampoline.  I got interested when she showed me over 50 guys tweeted back immediately saying stuff like WOW and “boy I’d like to see that”!   I ask her if she ever made any money from her fans and she said every now and then she’d sell her panties by mail but she was still working on her website and that was all she had to sell at present.  Then I started asking other models how many facebook friends you have and how many tweeter fans.  Many say hundreds and even thousands.

Here is my proposal:

Go to my studio and do one of my solo girl shoots.  These shoots are three hours of camera time.  In other words if it takes you 2 hours to do your hair and make up – it’s a 5 hour shoot.  It involves 3 scenes – a workout set – a secretarial set and a bedroom set.  It’s you by yourself – adult posing – no sex.  It is a very easy shoot with about 90% put to music in choreographed poses. Within 10 days – no later – you’ll get an edited approx. 1 hour DVD plus about 100 still photo jpgs.  It will be a straight content trade.  The DVD will be yours to sell and the stills for you to use anyway you choose.  In not months - but in 10 days or less you’ll have a product from which you can make money!  If you wish – especially if you do not already have a website – at no charge to you - I’ll put you up a page on my server (it will have nothing to do with my customers or my website – it will be your personal page) it will be a page that you can send a link to for your 100's if not 1000's of fans.  It will offer your DVD for whatever price you choose – most girls sell it for $19.95 plus $5 shipping.  Your fans will be able to charge it on their Master Card, Visa or American Express.  You will make the $19.95 I will take the $5.  Out of the $5 I will mail your fan the DVD, I’ll pay for the DVD, postage and credit card processing fee.  You do nothing but send out the tweets and collect the cash.  It’s true out of the $5 I’ll end up making very little.  But the good news for me is – if you make money – you’ll be back to make more DVD’s and more content trades.  You may want to get your girlfriend to do a girl/girl or boyfriend for a boy/girl shoot.  This way you make a little money as you build up your content for your website and you get to keep all the $19.95’s.  Do the math – for every 5 DVD’s you sell that’s $100 profit for you and the photography never gets old.  By that I mean I’m still selling Volume #1 I did over 20 years ago.  Some of the girls that were in Volume 1 were 24 years old – they are now 44 years old but Volume #1 still shows them as a nice firm 24 year old and Volume #1 still sells in 2009 just like it did in 1989!  So one way to look at it is - you have a retirement plan!

Do I pay you expense money?:

Yes!  If you are a model that fits the niche of my DVD’s.  For the most part it is 18 to 27 years old, caucasian or hispanic, thin and not too many tattoos – the more girl next-door looks you have - the better!  If you do the three scenes I mentioned I’ll be happy to give you $150 cash for the trouble of fighting the LA traffic.  This will be for the first shoot only as I would hope that for future shoots you’ll start seeing a profit that will make any other trips worth the drive.

Can my husband, agent, boyfriend or manager be with me during the shoot?:

The short answer is no.  I understand that especially picking a photographer off a website there are security concerns and believe it or not there are two sides to the story.  First I would hope you have noticed all the photography posted on the site was done by me.  If you are an adult entertainer you may know some of the girls posted – in which case you are more than welcome to call them – ask them about me (Doug) – I think you’ll find they will all say they were treated with respect and in a professional manner at all times.  If you insist I will provide the name and phone number of a professional model I have photographed as well as a model agency from which I have done business.  I know some of you would still like the boyfriend present and like I said there are two sides to this issue.   A few years back I did the video with a friend who did the still photography for Hustlers Virgins Magazine.  In it we interviewed over 100 girls and over 50% answered the questions this way:

Has he ever been to jail or prison?

Well Yeah – but it wasn’t his fault.
